As I was observing two Monarch 5th instar caterpillars in the garden at the Elizaville Deli in Elizaville, NY, a male adult Monarch appeared and drew nectar from the flowers in the garden. His vibrant color suggested to me that he had eclosed recently and thus may be migrating soon.
