Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 09/06/2017

Number: 8

It looked like it was going to be a good day for migrating monarchs as the weather was sunny and the wind NE at 5 mph, but the temperature was 58F. I started at the Lake Huron shoreline at Harrisville State Park at 11:30 PM, but no monarchs were observed for 90 minutes at my favorite spot. I then walked the beach north at saw one monarch on the beach and another one flying south. I then went to the town of Harrisville and added another monarch flying high going south. Then I went to the harbor and added 2 more monarchs on goldenrod flowers. On my way back through the park I added another monarch at the railroad tracks flying about. Finally, at my flower garden I saw two more monarchs nectaring on the Joe-pye-weed at 2:45 PM.
