While at the beach of Stearns Park in Ludington I saw 7 and as many as 15 monarchs fluttering low about the beach. Many of them were "puddling" on the beach & I suspected that they were building up their mineral reserves in anticipation of migrating to Mexico. It was a sunshiny day with temps in the low 70s.
