Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/06/2017

Number: 11

Eleven juvenile and female RT hummingbirds fighting over 3 feeders. (one adult male RT reported separately--not included in this count) The birds consumed over 2 cups of nectar today already and they are still feeding heavily getting ready for night. They have been "sharing" a little more readily today due to the rain. I have seen 4 feeding at once on a 4 nipple feeder today which has not happened recently (when the juveniles first fledged they were willing to share.)

weather--high 71 F but cooler most of day (in mid 60s), light breezes, rain or drizzle most of day
