Three monarchs are nectaring in the garden on tropical milkweed (Asclepias curassavica), false sunflower (Helianthus helianthoides), tall verbena (Verbena bonariensis) and blue mistflower (both Conoclinium coelestinum and Concoclinium greggii). One monarch is positively identified as a male; the other 2 monarchs' sex is unknown. All 3 butterflies arrived in the garden during the late afternoon (around 3:00 pm CT) and have been actively nectaring throughout the garden space since.
