I haven't seen my females this week, but 2 male Ruby-throated showed up, and boy, did they fight. It was a true wrestling match, where one actually body slammed the other to the ground in the grass and then sat on top of him for 2 minutes and would not let him get up, no matter how hard he tried! I have never seen anything like it before. The one on top would actually poke the other one that was pinned down with his beak if he tried to flap his wings to fly away. I wanted to video it but was too transfixed by the whole thing to move.
