Sightings report image

Date: 09/10/2017

Number: 8

Over 25 sub adult male and male Ruby throats have come thru since August 23,2017. Still havent seen females yet. One I thought was a Ruby throat is actually a sub adult male Rufous that has been sitting on his swing chasing out others since August 23 rd. In our kitchen window. I looked at him thru field glasses trying to figure why not migrating out because of possible injury, then finally saw the tail flare of orange feathers. I also saw the throat area with the green dots. Bingo a Rufous. We shall see how long he stays defending his spot.
