I planted a milkweed garden 4 years ago and watched a monarch lay her eggs on the milkweed over the course of 2 days! All total, I collected, reared and released 30 of the 34 eggs collected. Two caterpillars hatched and didn't make it. Two chrysalides turned brown, then black, and never hatched. Looking forward to more monarch rearing in the future! I really enjoyed helping them, and my kids did too.
