I planted common milkweed in my garden and enjoy seeing monarchs, tree frogs, ladybugs, and tussock moths in there too. I also planted some swamp milkweed, 2 butterfly bushes, joe pye weed, and purple cone flowers nearby. This year, while I was gardening ,a monarch almost hit me in the face. So I sat and watched her and she laid an egg on the common milkweed. 34 eggs total, all of which I was able to rear inside and share with local elementary school students. We all loved it. Monarchs are so amazing!
