6:15 p.m. -- I was surprised to see a Monarch flying that late in the day, as the sun was getting low. It was the first one I've seen this season flying with a purpose in a SW direction. It seemed intent on making progress on the day. Cloudless sky, no wind. Warm into the evening. Beautiful day!
