Signs of Fall

Date: 09/10/2017

Number: 100

On both September 10th and September 11th, there were over a hundred Monarch Butterflies in my back yard flying around my echinacea flowers and my Lantana flowers. I knew they attracted butterflies but in past years, I'd be lucky to see one and this year there are too many to count. It was beautiful.

Editor's note: this year has seen numerous reports of large quantities of butterflies identified as Monarchs. Since Monarchs are rarely seen in large quantities like this we are presuming these reports to be sightings of Painted Lady butterflies.
