Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/14/2017

Number: 1

Cloudy, calm, humid morning, 76°. Lots of Rubythroats feeding on jewel weed, roses, cardinal vine and feeders, one or two at a time. Probably a mix of regulars and migrants. Couldn't get an accurate count or a good look to determine age or gender. We had a definite adult male at the kitchen window last week, looking for his feeder which was downed by a rainstorm. Got it back up fast but didn't see whether he found it or the other two feeders. Keep those feeders clean and full - even if you think they've all left. We've seen them well into October and had a Rufous arrive one year on October 29 and stay till January 15.
