Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 09/05/2017

Number: 13

I had not had any larvae this spring and few sightings until late summer - I returned from Nova Scotia on September 5, 2017 and collected 13 larvae. They are now in various stages - caterpillars and chrysalids.
While in Nova Scotia, I visited with a young lady who has counted caterpillars and given a workshop on monarchs. There is a program to get the people to plant milkweed and increase the numbers that fly to that far northeast area and then make the migration. Her name is Carter Feltham and we are staying in touch - Texas to Nova Scotia is a long way!
