I've seen 3 different caterpillars in the milkweed that I've allowed to grow outside my kitchen window. I have seen them at the same time (This is why I know there are at least 3.), but I have also seen the 'pillars over several days.

This is the first year I've seen any monarchs or larva in at least two years.

I have also seen adults on more three occasions, twice in early summer and once at the end of August.
