I home-reared 106 monarchs this fall. Monarch #106 was a large male and I left him at my twin sister's monarch heaven garden. I placed him on a Mexican Sun Flower blossom in the sun and he started exercising immediately.
I raised 85 in the spring. The fall generation had more issues: 3 larvae died from fly infestation and 4 died of unknown reasons. One adult had problems eclosing, symptomatic of having OE, so I didn't want it to get into main population.
