The heat wave is over and the Monarchs have departed. Yesterday the temps dropped from the previous upper 80s to a high of 68 with plenty of sun. I had one Monarch feeding on New England Aster for a couple of hours and then he was gone. Today is cool and drizzly with no sun. I don't expect to see any Monarchs today.
