Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/18/2017

Number: 7

Observed 7 different individual female/immature ruby throated hummers this evening. Getting a late influx of migrating RTHB's. At this time last year 6 of 10 left our yard. They seem to be really attracted to nectar feeders that provide easy access to the feeding ports, they pretty much ignore high-perch and larger saucer shaped feeders. Still lots of feeding on black & blue salvias, Wendy's wish salvia and purple salvia. Not to mention the firecrackers. See a lot of them on favorite hook and flower branch perches. Last one went to roost at 7:25 p.m. A full 11 minutes earlier qqQqqaaaAAAAAAAAAàaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaathan
