This female stayed on this perch from sunrise to around 12noon. She began chasing the Sub-male Ruby relentlessly to keep him on one side of the yard(that was before nightfall). But today she doesn't want to share "her" backyard with anyone. She took choice plants, all of the sunflowers, Turk's cap, Salvia's & Sage & 4 Cigar plants neat 2 feeder's just for her. Poor Sub-male R.T. had 2 Cigar plants & a feeder. She has been all over trying to keep him out of the backyard "Period". But she did manage to work-in some "Beauty-Spa time) into her busy schedule preening her feathers. She worked on each feather I think for about 30-45 minutes. I guess she is getting her feathers & wings ready for the "Big Trip". She has even chased Chickadee's that get on the tree or trying to get a drink from her feeder or water from the ant guard. Chickadee did not seem to be phased from her "antics".
