Early this morning as I was looking out the French doors to the west, I noticed a Monarch gliding from the sky into my zinnia patch. I hustled out to the garden for a closer look. It stayed for a few minutes sipping from each bud and then whisked into the air and skimmed across the newly mown hay. Reaching the creek it climbed up the ridge side over the trees and vanished from my eye sight. Don't ask me why I wept. I just did. Maybe it's because I know that it has a dangerous journey to Mexico.
