We just returned from early evening walk and were fortunate enough to see a single Monarch at tree top level, heading south, land in a stand of red oaks. Also, we were surprised to find a single large Monarch caterpillar in our patch of swamp milkweed yesterday. We took it inside and are going to feed it milkweed leaves each day. We know its late in the season...fingers crossed.
