While looking for monarchs today, I collected 8 larva on a patch of milkweed in the town of Harrisville near HWY US-23 and Main Street. They are in 4th and 5th instar stages. This is the latest I have observed monarch larva since record keeping back to 2010. The latest was September 11, 2011. Those larva emerged from their chrysalides on September 25th, so the larva I collected today should emerge from the chrysalides the first week of October. I will update this later.
