5 female/immature ruby throated hummingbirds were really hammering the nectar feeders this evening. I think they were feeding mostly on the feeders and less on the flowers because of disturbance of construction around the house. But it didn't slow them down at the feeders. I believe there were more hummers around but didn't get to watch them very long. They are sticking close to the nectar sources in our yard. It's amazing how the hummers can show up at a feeder and you don't realize it at first.
