Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/21/2017

Number: 1

At @ 3PM today I saw a juvenile or female on a Black and Blue Salvia Species Guaranitica. I sincerely encourage anyone interested in Ruby Throats to seek out this plant. In zones 7a or 7b - or warmer, it behaves as a perennial. Plant in the ground and in the Fall don't cut it back, the flower stalks will serve as a reminder where it's planted. It's a bit late to appear in the Spring. When it shows signs of life it can be cleaned up. Then, when actively growing it's easy to make cuttings. This plant is a MUST HAVE for any Hummingbird enthusiast. You will find it as 'Black and Blue' or 'Black and Bloom'. Both loved by the Hummers!
