Sadly, I think that this male humming bird has died. Two days ago I heard a thud on my glass sliding door I went to investigate and there was a hummer at the feeder and no sign of what caused the thud. Since 9/19/17 I have only had the one male at my feeder with no territorial behavior. I believe it is the photographed aggressive hummingbird that hit the window -- presumably confused when it saw the reflection of the other in the window. The male that continues to use the feeder comes in from the direction that the second male came from and doesn't roost in the same tree in my garden. I have to get something to put on the glass door so that birds don't hit it. :-(
