Monarch Adult Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/21/2017

Number: 2

We had 2 healthy monarches tonight feeding on our butterfly bush. Time was 5:50pm, temp of 85. Strong south winds and very humid.

We usually have peak migration between September 22-27 in years past. The pattern just has not played out this year. Our butterfly garden is still in full bloom with large amounts of food for our traveling friends.

The weather forecast is calling for warmer temps in the high 80's until Monday with continued strong winds out of the South. Based on the article today on Learners Home Page the migration stall may continue for another week or so.
