A male monarch has been feeding on sedum since early this a.m. I'm assuming i4t's the male that was here until after 7pm last night. He is sharing the flowers with at least a dozen painted ladies. The butterflies seem to like the sedum flowers that have kind of a frilly appearance and they ignore a large sedum within a few feet that doesn't have the same type of flower. We had an overnight low of 74 degrees in St. Paul and we have a heat warning for this p.m. with due points in the 70s and a temp on the low 90s. Winds all from the South.
