This Monarch wanted into our house. It was 91 degrees here yesterday so unusual. It kept flying around us until it finally lit on a small piece of clover. Seemed to be in a weakened state. My husband gathered some of our hummingbird nectar and put it in a pop bottle lid and it drank and drank and then all of a sudden seemed to continue its journey. Hope we were of help.
