The female with white feathers at the base of her beak was joined by an immature male this morning. He is very fearless,flying up close to me to check me out and chasing away the adult female and various song birds that he notices coming to my deck.I have seen him several times in hot pursuit of a titmouse. Whereas she only nectars at flowers,he visits flowers and any of the four feeders that I still have up. I saw him trying to feed from a hanging sunflower seed feeder this afternoon. He buzzes loudly and was attempting to display when trying to intimidate one of the titmice.
