4 female/immature ruby throated hummingbirds still here this morning in east central Minnesota. Good possibility there is a fifth one around. Cold front moved in overnight dropping highs from 90's to 60's. It's 61 degrees right now, slightly windy, cloudy, with light rain on and off. 3 hummers are mostly preferring nectar feeders and at least 1 individual is feeding frequently on black & blue salvias and Wendy's Wish salvias. Lots of perching on shepherd hooks, salvia stems, ash tree, silver maple, and Korean lilac tree branches. There were a few pretty awesome air battles with 2 hummers tightly spiraling each other and rising high in the air. Temperatures in the 90s last few days had hummers feeding frequently on flowers again.
