Saw "swarms" of butterflies in my front yard several times last week. They were on some vine that grows on a silver maple in our yard. Not sure what kind of vine/ivy it is.

Saw at least 50, might have been up to 100 butterflies.

I didn't get a photo....and it is highly possible that what I saw were in fact Painted Ladies. I can't say with any certainty though. I know that there are Monarch-like butterflies out there that are easily misidentified.
