Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/21/2017

Number: 300

Another observer along that same small stretch of road in Port Hope reports:

"Roger had about 300 Monarchs this morning at Lake Street, as well as about 60 Painted Ladies and 3 Common Buckeye." Roger is an expert birdwatcher and field naturalist.

Clearly the north shore of Lake Ontario is very important for monarchs in terms of staging and nectaring habitat during the migration and for the habit available for reproduction.
