Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/27/2017

Number: 3

Saw what I took to be 2 female ruby-throats this morning feeding at 2 different nectar feeders. Late this afternoon 2 were buzzing around neighbor's garden catching insects & a third fueling up at a nectar feeder. Between 7:10 and 7:15 this evening 2 females were really taking in nectar at two different feeder locations but same brand of feeder. Last I saw of each one they flew up into a tree in our yard where I like to think they'll roost overnight. Did not observe any feeding on flowers today. So seem to be down 1 hummer since yesterday and down 2 since a couple days ago. I'll have to look sharp early tomorrow morning to hopefully see these hummers one more time. They could leave tomorrow afternoon. It will be different for awhile after being used to seeing hummers frequently zipping around.
