Saw about a dozen low flying monarchs during our trip through the amery/balsam lake/ luck/ Frederic area.........
no afternoon sightings......northwest wind and thermals had them higher by then, I think.......
tried to find a roost at a red clover field in the evening, but there were maybe just a dozen monarchs there, so not enough to cluster......
some westerly winds today so might be low flying monarchs again for our late northerners.......
