The weather in southeastern PA for the past week has been unusually warm and humid. I have noted a large number of chrysalises under the patio railing, and on plants, even the Alberta spruce. They range in color from dull green to deep-orange/black. Lots of "skins" hanging around from emerged butterflies. I'd really recommend planting Aesclepias incarnate. I did last spring, scattered around the yard in planting w/ other flowers and this year they matured into prolific "bushes" which drew too-many-to-count butterflies and bees etc. Monarchs loved them!
