I'm reporting at least 2 Monarchs seen by a young neighbor who has shown solid interest in almost any insect.
She brought me a wing that turned out to be from a Painted Lady. She's learned how to hold things gently, and if possible in a container or a cupped hand. And she has sharp eyes.
She told me she had seen Monarch butterflies in the tree in front of her house.
I walked down to have her show me what she had seen.
I got dizzy looking up into the glare of the sun, but sure enough, there are at least 2 or more Monarch butterflies flying in and out of several trees.
