Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 09/30/2017

Number: 1

Little migrator girl is still with us--she was thin when she arrived last week and is now looking robust :-) Yesterday, last night, and today, she spendt (spends) most of her time in Wendy's Wish salvia, perching deep in the middle of the plant when not enjoying nectar in the flowers. Black and Blue Salvia is also being included in her dining. She spent the night in the dogwood tree, tucking in for the night at 7:30 PM. At 8 AM, she appeared in Wendy's Wish. It was 36 degrees. I washed all the feeders with hot water, (14 still in the habitat) and filled with warm nectar. There may be other hummers on the Far East Bank of the habitat, as these feeders are being used. Flowers are preferred vs nectar feeders.
