One diminutive monarch (gender undetermined) had been seen roosting this morning at this location; at 5:15pm this fine lady was observed scouting the block before roosting in a tree across from where the morning monarch was observed. Single migrants observed throughout the week, 2 of those had severely battered wings so I doubt those would make it to Mexico. Spent yesterday at the Salt Plains north of here & observed solitary monarch migrants in that area too. No big roosts to report.
