Had off and on sightings today. The day started cool in the lower 60's but warmed up to 80 degrees with SE winds.
It seems the zinnias and cone flowers are the choice of nectar this year as the butterfly bush has lost 98% of its blooms due to the heavyeating of the painted ladies.
This years travelers are not staying around very long unlike years past. It's a quick graze to refuel and off again towards the SSW.
I will continue to report but it seems we did not get the large influx of peak migration this year which is normally between September 16-27 range. I'm not seeing reports to the north of us in Iowa or Nebraska of major sightings.
