For the second fall in a row I have a male Broad-billed Hummingbird residing in my yard (and the surrounding backyards). The attached photo is one I took last year, but the bird is undoubtedly the same male. He overwintered in my yard last year, with consistent sightings by me and nearly 100 other visiting birders from 10/15/16 to 1/8/17. He was first spotted this year on 9/22 and has been present each day since then with regular visits to my feeders, and natural feeding on desert willow blossoms and other remaining blooms.
