While working in my parent's yard, my mother said "monarch" to me. I waited a few minutes to make sure these two were going to stay, then went to get my camera. The pair stayed close to the salvia in the flower garden for an hour while I photographed them. It was a clear sunny day with a light breeze. While not brightly colored, the pair looked healthy.
