Nine (9) monarchs were in the garden today, arriving around 8:00 am. The last of the group left around 7:20 pm well after sunset. They primarily nectared on tropical milkweed (Asclepias curassavica), red pentas and blue mistflower (Conoclinium coelestinum and Conoclinium greggii). Their behavior was intensely focused on feeding. Some appear to be roosting overnight on the red leaf photinia at the back of our property.
