Sightings report image

Date: 10/04/2017

Number: 42

I wish I could get a better picture. They're everywhere in my backyard. It is October 4th in Englewood, CO. We're appx. one mile South of Denver. I still have flowers all within my extensive landscaping, and as soon as one butterfly leaves a flower, another one comes in to take its place. I'm an environmental scientist so from my location, using a random stratified sample, between the hours of 9:30 to 10:00,I spotted 42. With the peak at 9:36.My confounding variable would be the two cats with me disrupting my sample population. Of which I'm happy to report, zero were lost to my little hunters.
