Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/04/2017

Number: 2

What a treat! had not seen any monarchs in several days and now these two in my garden. They were lazing around in the sunshine, sipping nectar from the leek flowers and a daisy. Suspect they are late hatchings from some of the larvae that were in the garden earlier. We are having an unusually mild autumn. One light frost so far, leaves are falling without getting to full color except the swamp Maples, they were bright red a few weeks ago.
