I was out for a trail ride on my horse through the Glen Major Forest Trails of the Durham Region, Ontario Canada, on September 30th. It was very quiet and peaceful. At least a dozen Monarchs flew up from the tall grass, golden rod and (I think they are called) Wild Purple Asters. I have not seen so many Monarchs at one time in many years. It was about 2 hours prior to sunset. (Around 5pm EDT). The Monarchs flying around my horse and myself was absolutely breathtaking.
