I saw a lone monarch this morning while walking on the Lake Wobegon Trail a few miles west of Sauk Centre, MN. It stopped to rest for just a bit on a sumac shrub and then continued southward. Luckily it flew up high enough to avoid the traffic as it crossed over Interstate 94 and headed on it's way. I got this photo of it, but it didn't sit long enough to get a closer one, and one at a better angle.
