Observed a late-season Monarch chrysalis attached to a Common Milkweed seed pod. Black markings on pre-emergent butterfly wings are visible through chrysalis walls. Both Swamp Milkweed and Common Milkweed plants are found at this location near a stormwater retention pond in North Amherst,New York.
