I was at the City Park in Sidney with my grandson so was unable to count, but there were many of the adult Monarchs on the ground and flying around.

All that I can say that I noticed was around 50 or so on the ground and flying around, but it was a big grassy area, and we were stirring some of them up as we walked. There may well have been more of them where we didn't walk. Yes! We did see Painted Ladies, too
