5 females and 2 males arrived after about 7 days of no monarchs in the garden. They arrive simultaneously with a swarm of about 25 American Painted Ladies. Sunny 78F light breeze.
Nectaring on mainly a Butterfly Bush "Dartmoore" which is a profuse late or longer blooming variety that butterflies love in lateSeptember - early October. Also visiting Lantana's and only Ocassionally to a large patch of fully blooming New England Asters.
Reminiscent of five or more years ago when I would get 50 or so monarchs in the garden. Best year in years! There has been some hopeful recover.
