Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 10/09/2017

Number: 2

Today is Monday, October 9, 2017. We still have 2 female Ruby-throated hummingbirds eating from our feeders, roses, butterfly bushes, and Canna Lilly flowers! So happy we still have them! I changed out the 4 feeders today, putting fresh nectar in them. I am making a new batch of nectar - this time using 2 parts sugar to 4 parts water - instead of 1 part sugar to 4 parts water. Hopefully this will help the hummies when they take off on their many mile migration travels. I love our hummingbirds so much, and am so happy we still have them for a little while longer! Today in Tennessee it was 90 degrees in the shade on our front farmhouse deck!
