I was (am?) in direct line of their migration path.

Years ago I watched streams of monarchs pass by my (large window looking north east by the lakeshore.)
window.

These days it's a sad flutter-by-flitter.
I'm so glad my child got to see the streams before they trickled down to a few lone monarchs.
